TReK Release 1.1 Service Pack 8
TReK
Release 1.1 Service Pack 8 is a service pack for TReK Release 1.1. (In case you
are wondering -- yes there was a Release 1.1 Service Pack 7 but it was never released.
All the updates that were in Service Pack 7 are also in Service Pack 8. For information
about the contents of Service Pack 7 please visit the Service Pack 7 page or read
the Service Pack 8 release notes.) Here's some information about Service Pack
8.
When will it be available?

Should I get this service pack?
We recommend installing this service pack when it is convenient.
How do I install the service pack?
You simply download the service pack (single file) and double click on it. This
will start an installation process that will update several files in the TReK
bin directory. That's all you need to do. You don't have to uninstall the TReK
software to install this service pack. You can install it over TReK Release
1.1 or any of the TReK Release 1.1 service packs (Service Pack 1, Service Pack
2, etc.). Please note that if you install this service pack you will automatically
get updates from all previous Release 1.1 service packs.
What's In It?
Fixes
- If a parameter used for identifying a packet was byte swapped, the value
for the parameter may be incorrectly interpreted. This problem would probably
only show up for users who have multiple formats for a PDSS Payload packet
and the format parameter was byte-swapped. Multiple formats for a GSE packet
do not have this problem since the format ID is not byte-swapped.
- The record file for packet statistics did not record every port’s
data.
- The Telemetry Processing main window appeared to flicker if many packets
were in the list and the colors were constantly changing.
New or Enhanced Capabilities
- The Telemetry Processing application now has an import/export
capability for displays. You can find it on the File menu. One or more displays
can be exported from one Telemetry Processing configuration and imported into
another configuration.
- The following messages were added in the Telemetry Processing
application. These messages are related to the new import/export displays
capability. Since the Telemetry Processing User Guide was not redelivered
with this service pack, the new messages are listed below:
- Message 2194: Request to import displays from <filename> has been
completed.
- Message 2195: An error occurred while trying to import displays from
<filename>.
- Message 2196: An error occurred while trying to read the import file.
The Telemetry Processing application expected the import file to contain
Telemetry Processing displays. The file selected <filename> does
not contain the expected data.
- Message 2197: Please select one or more items to export.
- Message 2198: <number of displays> have been exported into file
<filename>.
- Message 2199: An error occurred while trying to open the import file
<filename>.
- Message 2200: A dispay named "<display name>" already
exists in your current configuration. Would you like to rename the display
that you are importing, overwrite the existing display, or skip this display
(don't import it)?
- Message 2201: The following display(s) cannot be exported at this time
because they are currently in use. A display can only be exported if it
is in a "Not Running" state. <list of displays>
- Message 2202: Please fill in the "Save Export File As" field.
Use the Browse button to enter information into this field.
- Message 2203: If you change the state of any of the displays in the
list while you are exporting displays, this will interfere with the export
process. Please finish the Export Displays task you are currently working
on before interacting with any of the displays in the list.
- Message 2204: A display named "<display name>" already
exists in your current configuration and is currently in use. You cannot
overwrite a display that is in use. Would you like to rename the display
that you are importing or skip this display (don't import it)?
- Message 2205: The name you have entered in the "Rename" field
is already in use by an existing display. Please enter a different name.
- The Telemetry Processing and Training Simulator main windows
have been resized so their default size is smaller.
