The Telescience Resource Kit (TReK) provides a low cost solution for data, command, metadata, and file transfer capabilities. While initially developed for the International Space Station payload community, TReK now supports hundreds of science payloads as well as free-flying satellites.

Scientists around the world use TReK to monitor and control their International Space Station payloads. Operating since 2000, TReK has expanded its reach and now supports a variety of configurations. TReK is available for both Microsoft Windows 10 and Linux.

Data

Receive, process, record, playback, forward, and display data (ground-based or telemetry).

Commanding

Create, modify, send, track, and record commands.

File Transfer

Send/Receive using CCSDS File Delivery Protocol.

Developer APIs

APIs in C++ with .NET Framework and Python.


Communication

Support for Consultative Committee for Space Data Systems (CCSDS), Internet Protocols (Unicast, Multicast, TCP Listener, TCP Server, and TCP Client).

Cryptography

Encrypt and decrypt files, IP and BP packets using Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 140-2.

Delay Tolerant Networking (DTN)

Configure and Manage an Interplanetary Overlay Network (ION) DTN node.

Minimal Installations

Components can be individually installed.

TReK Cost

Provided free by the United States government to NASA programs operating via the Huntsville Operations Support Center (HOSC).
